Ethelind Baylor plans to address Philadelphia’s public safety needs by
*Adequately funding our public safety departments to exceed the requirements and fulfill the their missions for our citizens in a professional and citizen focused way
*Establishing an Office for Families of Homicide Victims to assist with advocacy, planning, and coordination of an evidence-based strategic plan to engage the communities and mitigate our murder epidemic. This issue hinders our city’s ability to attract more economic infusion into many neighborhoods outside of Center City and other high-income neighborhoods.
*Strengthen our City’s commitment to returning citizens from state, federal and city lockups so these men and women can integrate themselves into our communities in a state where their hierarchy of needs are met, and don’t return to prison
*Search for creative ways to keep the guns out the hands of people who used them to inflict harm on others.
